Welcome to the Friends of Beyond Newsletter

The Friends of Beyond Steering Committee agreed that a monthly email newsletter is the best method to communicate with Beyond residents in the intervening period up to the formation of the Friends of Beyond Incorporated Association. Its continuation after that point will be a decision for the newly elected Association Committee.

Well winter has certainly come in with a ROAR! We’ve been enjoying the last few remaining beautiful autumn days however the wintry rains and winds are now driving them away.

Still the wetland lakes and surrounding landscape are certainly benefiting from the influx of rains and it is a joy to see the plants and birdlife recover from the prolonged dry of summer. Our gardens suddenly seem full of weeds and those of us with veggie gardens are busy preparing for our winter crops. No doubt you have been pulling out your winter woolies, scarves and coats and are starting to enjoy time by your fireside, perhaps with a glass and good book in hand. And not to forget wonderful comfort food like soups, roasts, and stews, with perhaps pudding for dessert. We’ve been hunkering down in our houses due to the COVID 19 restrictions but suddenly with winter upon us it now seems less constricting somehow with the poor weather outside. Hopefully you have all armed yourselves with a flu vaccination to ensure your good health. And with the lifting of restrictions we will soon be back enjoying our winter sports. But winter still seems more enjoyable here at Beyond. Even if we’re kept inside we can always enjoy a beautiful outlook. And it is this appreciation that is driving the Steering Committee towards formation of the Friends of Beyond Association to preserve and improve our community assets.
