Plant at Beyond
The coastal, botanical theme of Beyond Today calls for predominant use of indigenous species in landscaping, with encouragement to select low-water demand plants to assist water conservation. When carefully selected, deciduous and evergreen trees can also offer benefits of summer shade and winter solar gain. Streetscape amenity and quality of architecture can be enhanced by landscaping. The Beyond Building Guidelines extend to the landscape and selection of plants.
It is a requirement that the plants included in the Beyond landscapes are selected:
from the approved plant species list
with regard to the effects of overshadowing.
