Resident picnic
Thanks to everyone who came along to our Christmas picnic under the shade of the trees on 1st December 2024. Residents, both long-time and new, enjoyed lively conversations and delicious food. Laughter and chatter filled the peaceful atmosphere as neighbours enjoyed a social catch-up.

Dragonfly ponds
In mid-December 2023, work began on the removal of a densely growing pondweed, Bacopa spp. in the Dragonfly ponds by a team of seven from Murraylands and Riverland Landscape Board. This is reducing the oxygen levels as well as trapping aquatic life, including the endangered pygmy perch and gudgeon. As the weed is much thicker and wetter than expected, piles of the pondweed have been left on the nearby banks to dry out and will be removed by the Alexandrina Council in early 2024.

Alexandrina Council update
A new Manager for Field Services commenced in February 2023. They will be a key contact for us to help ensure community concerns are being heard. This also means we will see a lot more of Vikki as she returns to her role.
We are in discussions with Council on managing watering and pond water levels going forward to ensure the ongoing health of our reserves and ponds. While currently Council does not water smaller reserves once established, they have confirmed that street trees should be being watered. So, if you have concerns this has not happened, please log a complaint with Council.
Following the many questions for Council at our last General Meeting, a Council representative will be attending our next General Meeting.
